Press Release

The Officers of Reigate & Banstead Conservative Association are delighted to announce that our vacancy for a new Parliamentary Candidate was advertised to CCHQ’s Approved List of Candidates on Monday 29th May. Applications will be accepted over a two week period.

This is a very exciting time for the Conservative Association and much work has taken place over recent weeks to ensure our Selection Council is in place ahead of the process commencing. A Sift Committee, comprising of members of the Selection Council, will ensure high quality candidates are identified for interview locally. Our Party’s interview and assessment process is tried and tested and will ensure our wider membership are provided with an excellent choice of candidates to vote for at the Special General Meeting of Members.

We are confident that our process will ensure a high quality applicant is selected as our Parliamentary Candidate for the next General Election. Our selection process also brings into view the forthcoming retirement of Crispin who has so diligently served as our Member of Parliament for over twenty five years. Over this time, Crispin has worked tirelessly on behalf of his constituents and has provided our towns and villages with superb representation in Westminster. We remain very grateful to him and know that he will continue to work incredibly hard for the residents of Reigate & Banstead during his remaining time as our MP.

We will issue further updates as the selection process progresses.
